The reproduction of original art works whether for archiving or print is one of the most difficult areas. The reason is that there is an absolute reference, the art work, and it can be compared side by side to the print. It doesn't matter if it paint, mixed media or installations, what does matter is that often the gallery and artist are disappointed and that that reproduction will be seen more than the original. If you're here maybe you want some help. Please call to talk about colour, print and light.

For institutions and anyone wanting to store there work as a digital file there are very precise guidelines available, this covers image capture, lighting, monitor profiling and metrics for teasing the workflow. The links at the bottom of the page explain some the procedures and at Print and Proof we have carried out audits for large cultural institutions based on these.
